Songhold

Songhold is a collection of simple chants and songs with words in English that honour the Divine Feminine, particularly the quality of 'holding'. Each song is a medicine of its own, with repeated words acting as a mantra. In a live setting, the audience learns the words and joins in, resulting in a warm community experience.

Over 2025 10 tracks were lovingly recorded with Arthur Young at Shaken Oak Studios in rural Oxfordshire, with support from 140 Crowdfunders.

Featuring musicians Josie Webber (cello, bass) , Melissa Holding (koto, accordion, piano), Tobias Stürmer (drums, percussion, ukelele, guitar) and Jackie Singer (shruti box, mandola, violin) with guests Katherine Lucas (voice), Elena Harris (voice) and Finlay Dove (trumpet).

The album is available as a download or a physical CD in a beautiful 6 panel cardboard case, with artwork by Dorrie Joy.
