If we get married, of course our intention is to stay with the person for the rest of our lives. However, I know from painful experience that this doesn’t always happen.
Ending a marriage or long-term relationship is a powerful transition, but it does not have to be full of blame and acrimony. A simple divorce ritual, especially if it can be witnessed by some of those who witnessed the marriage, gives a respectful form for cutting the ties.
This can be done with both parties present, but if that is not possible, it can also be done individually.
I have written about this on my blog :jackiesinger.wordpress.com/2012/11/30/a-divorce-ritual/
